Personal Message

I am Bernateen Bibb, Mossy Oaks Elementary’s speech-language pathologist.  It is a privilege to serve the MOES families.   Even though I have worked in the field of speech pathology for numerous years, it seems like yesterday.  Education is important to me, and I believe in the power of learning.  That is, learning something new each and every day.  After receiving my Bachelor degree from South Carolina State University, I decided to further my education and to obtain my master’s degree.  I sought this educational adventure at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and subsequently received a Masters of Liberal Arts. Throughout the years, I have maintained my Certificate of Clinical Competence, and license by the State of South Carolina as a speech-language pathologist. After some time, I decided to pursue my studies and once again return to school; this time to receive my Doctorate of Education.  Even though I received many academia rewards through the years, my greatest accomplishment, I consider, is my role of mother to my three wonderful children ~ Camille, Jared, and Gordon. In closing, I share with you my philosophy through the words of one of my favorite writers, Forest E. Witcraft:

“A hundred years from now…it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had, but that the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.”

It is my hope, and it is my dream to make a difference in the life of your child...
